Volumatic’s TruSort Coin Sorting Machine Increases Efficiency at Port of Dover

Volumatic has supplied G4S Maritime, world leader in the provision of international ship and port facility security services, with its TruSort coin sorting machine at Port of Dover. Port of Dover has 15 car parking ticket machines that accept assorted coins and must be emptied and counted at least once a week.

Recently G4S decided to sort the coins in-house and they contacted Volumatic for a low cost, simple to operate and reliable machine that did not occupy a large amount of space when not in use.

“Each week’s collection was being counted by hand and it soon became clear that we needed to obtain a suitable machine to assist with the process. It took 2 people around 3-4 hours over 2 days to count a single collection by hand, which in terms of productivity was unacceptable,” Steven Taylor MD – G4S Maritime commented.

Volumatic offered a 2 week trial with coin sorting machine TruSort to see if it would be suitable. TruSort is fully automated and able to count and sort 216 coins per minute. It sorts coins into individual hoppers and also into the correct denomination that the bank requires for each bag.

“This saved us a lot of time. From the assorted coin stage to paying in at the Bank can now be accomplished in less than a day.” Steven said, “I have to say that our experience with Volumatic and its products has been superb. The machine provided meets all of our requirements at around a tenth of the cost of any of the other equipment we considered.
